Step 2: Open Live Map from the bookings view

Live Map is accessible directly from your bookings dashboard. Click the map icon to open a full view showing:

• Cleaner pins — each cleaner's current GPS position, updated in real time
• Property pins — every property with a booking scheduled today
• Status indicators — on time vs. running late, based on travel distance

Step 3: Spot who's running late before the client does

Live Map calculates each cleaner's estimated travel time to their next job based on their current location. If a cleaner is unlikely to arrive on time, you'll see it flagged — giving you time to reach out, reroute, or notify the client proactively.

CleanerSync tip: Use the running-late indicator as an early warning system, not a blame tool. When you contact the client ahead of time, you turn a potential complaint into a positive touchpoint.

Step 4: Use the map for unassigned or flexible-time jobs

Not every booking has a fixed time. Live Map still shows property pins for flex-time jobs, so you can visually identify which cleaners are closest and assign on the fly. This is especially useful for same-day requests or when a job opens up unexpectedly due to a cancellation.

Step 5: Combine tracking with photo reports

Live Map tells you where your team is — photo reports tell you what they've done. Together, they give you complete visibility into every job without being on-site. Cleaners upload before and after photos through the app, which are attached to the booking record and visible from your dashboard.

Does Live Map work if the cleaner's phone is locked?

Yes — as long as background location permissions are granted, the CleanerSync app shares location even when the phone screen is off. On iOS, select "Always" for location access. On Android, select "Allow all the time."

How often does the cleaner's location update?

Locations update in real time as cleaners move. The map refreshes automatically — no need to manually reload the page.

Can cleaners see each other's locations on the map?

No. Live Map is only visible to company owners and admins. Cleaners see their own schedule and jobs through the app, but do not have access to the team tracking view.

Is Live Map available on all plans?

Live Map is a Pro feature. It's available on the Pro plan and above. You can upgrade at any time from your account settings.

What if a cleaner doesn't want to be tracked?

Location sharing is opt-in at the device level — cleaners can revoke it through their phone settings at any time. We recommend being transparent with your team about how tracking is used, and framing it as a scheduling tool rather than surveillance.
